Tracy McGrady Re-Signs with adidas

When you think about NBA player signature sneakers over the decades, Jordan is obviously at the top of mind, but if you were getting buckets in the early 2000s, you already know T Mac was on top of the world. Now, McGrady is back with adidas, signing a new endorsement deal that already has us fiending for new retros.
Announced first by ESPN NBA reporter Shams Charania, the new deal comes after a three-year lull in the decades-long relationship between McGrady and adidas. Now back together, the partnership brings expectations of new releases for classic Orlando Magic colorways of the iconic T-Mac 1 and T-Mac 2.
“Coming back feels like home,” McGrady told Boardroom. “We made history before, now it’s about pushing the next generation to dream even bigger.
In addition to our expectations of retro T-Macs, McGrady and adidas announced that they are partnering to bring back the ABCD Camp for youth basketball standouts with sneaker icon Sonny Vaccaro, the same camp where McGrady was first discovered as a potential star.

Sneaker deals are always subject to the whims of financial disagreements and personal beefs, but when it comes to legacy, T Mac and adidas just belong together, and we’re glad to see the Hall of Famer back where he belongs.
