Most sneaker industry collaborators would be lucky to have to pick between Nike and adidas. James Whitner’s The Whitaker Group, on the other hand, is bucking all convention, launching collections of Nikes and adidas at the same time. After official images of an upcoming Nike V5 RNR collection surfaced, The Whitaker Group took to Instagram this week to preview a cookout-themed adidas editorial for a new Three Stripes collab collection.
The Whitaker Group x adidas Collection was previewed in a multi-scene video showing off a colorful collab pack with at least three recognizable silhouettes: the Gazelle, Handball Spezial, and Adizero PR. The standout from the quick teaser is a salmon pink Adizero PR colorway with clean white and grey accents.
We can also spot half photos of Gazelle and Handball Spezial colorways in tan with lime green accents, maroon with navy hits, and two pairs in shades of blue, one in light robin’s egg and the other in another navy and maroon flip.
So far, we’ve only got the one quick preview of the collection alongside the caption “Your world is made in the quiet rituals. This adidas capsule moves where life happens.” The Instagram post was a collab post across all four Whitaker Group retailers, A Ma Maniere, Social Status, APB, and Jaide, suggesting a shop-specific collab just like the Nike V5 RNR pack.
The Whitaker Group x adidas Collection doesn’t have a confirmed release date, but the caption on Instagram has the date “2.20,” suggesting either a full drop or reveal of the collection tomorrow. Once released, expect a drop through The Whitaker Group’s retail arms, in-store and online. Available in unisex sizing, the specific pairs and retail prices are still TBD.
