From comic strips to animated series and then to films, The Smurfs have been a cultural phenomenon for decades, endearing themselves to young audiences and the young-at-heart. Unsurprisingly, sneaker brands have looked to bring these lovable blue characters to our feet. While Puma has recently collaborated with various popular culture franchises, their newest collaboration is with the Little Blue Creatures on the Playmaker Pro.

Drawing inspiration from the vibrant world of the Smurfs, the Puma Playmaker Pro showcases a color palette dominated by various shades of blue. The toe and heel regions feature a darker blue leather overlay, gracefully transitioning to suede sections near the eyestays. The tongue adds character to the design, portraying a whimsical graphic of a Smurf jetting off on a rocket ship, encapsulating the fun and adventure the characters are known for. Adding contrast, the iconic Puma Formstrip along the lateral midfoot sparkles in red and yellow, while its counterpart on the medial side is outlined in a striking yellow. The shoe's base is defined by a crisp white foam midsole, supported by a multi-hued blue rubber outsole that complements the sneaker's theme.

The Smurfs x Puma Playmaker Pro will release September 30, 2023, through Puma and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men's sizing, the shoe is priced at $90.
