A Malaysian Delicacy Inspires The HUNDRED% x SneakerLAH x Asics GEL-Lyte III Teh Tarik

When it comes to sneaker collaborations inspired by Malaysian cuisine, the HUNDRED% and SneakerLAH are head chefs. After cooking up the "Nasi Lemak" back in 2019, the brands have now reunited for the HUNDRED% x SneakerLAH x Asics GEL-Lyte III "Teh Tarik." Taking inspiration from the hot milk tea beverage most commonly found in restaurants, outdoor stalls, mamaks, and kopitiams across Southeast Asia, this tasty colorway is sure to quench your thirst, so make sure you read on to find out everything that you need to know.

Known for its golden brown hue and creamy consistency, tek tarik has been a delicacy in Malaysia for many years. Reflected here on the GEL-Lyte III's buttery wheat suede construction, the interchangeable stripes across the sidewalls boast a drippy look, while the insole has been purposefully decorated with a tea stain-like graphic. Underneath the GEL midsole you'll find a completely see-through outsole that nods to the glass tables found in mamaks and kopitiams. This all comes packed within a special edition shoebox that's definitely made for all of the collectors out there.

"Teh Tarik is a national drink that draws Malaysians together from all walks of life, connecting people from different races, cultures, and religion." states Boon Tib Soom Nik, Country Manager of ASICS Malaysia. "Available at any time of the day, this popular drink is made by continuously pouring (or pulling) a strong, hot tea mixture blended with sweet and creamy condensed milk between two cups or mugs until it becomes a thick, frothy tea heaven. The milk tea is 'pulled' in a theatrical display to aerate as well as enhance the deep flavors of the tea, which served as our inspiration in the overall design for this unique masterpiece."

The HUNDRED% x SneakerLAH x Asics GEL-Lyte III Teh Tarik is set to release on December 4th, 2022 in men's sizes.
