One of the main reasons we’ve seen a resurgence of hype surrounding the Boston-based footwear brand, New Balance, would have to be their keen eye for bringing in collaborators. Included in this, is Teddy Santis, the founder of the fashion label Aime Leon Dore and current Creative Director of NBs Made in USA line. Throughout 2022 we’ve seen the MIUSA line cover a variety of colorways on the NB 990, 990v2, and 990v3, many of which came in similar color schemes and were released in tandem with one another. Now, to cap off the year, Teddy and NB have put together a second Seasonal Collection that will include the 3 previously mentioned silhouettes on top of apparel that complements each footwear choice.
As with all Made in USA products, the sneakers feature premium materials like pigskin suede, nubuck, and mesh with each model (990, 990v2, and 990v3) coming in a combo of olive green, tan, grey, and navy. Grey mesh makes up the base of all three sneakers while pigskin suede overlays cover large portions of the silhouettes, taking on an olive green cue. Accenting these two shades, navy appears along the midfoot's “N” logo and a small section of the overlays found along the toebox on the v2 and v3 silhouettes. Atop each tongue and back on the heel, “Made in USA” branding sits beside typical New Balance logos and text while the insole’s graphic gets a retro typeface. Rounding out the look is a foam midsole paired with a black rubber outsole.
To match your sneakers, you could pick up a few of the “Core” clothing pieces. Comprised of t-shirts (both short and long sleeve), crewnecks, hoodies, thermal t-shirts, and sweatpants, all pieces come in multiple colorways of monochromatic shades.
The New Balance Made in USA By Teddy Santis F/W 2022 Collection is set to release on October 27th, 2022 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. The sneakers will be available in men’s sizing with prices set at $190 (990), $195 (990v2), and $200 (990v3). Clothing pieces retail between $65 and $175.
