SZA Signs Multi-Year Partnership with Vans as the Brand’s Artistic Director

Vans has always been a brand focused on personal expression, especially in the music world. The California label sponsors one of the most popular alternative festivals with the Warped Tour and has consistently been on the feet of musicians across genres for decades. Now, Vans is forging an official partnership with one of the biggest artists of this generation, SZA.
The multi-year deal between SZA and Vans sees the TDE singer/songwriter take on the role of Artistic Director. She will work closely with the brand to reimagine campaigns and co-create product collections.
SZA released a statement as part of the announcement:
In Vans, I feel free! I've been wearing Knu Skools and other styles for years, they've always had an ethos I connect with. As Artistic Director, my mission is to show that joy, community, creativity, and fashion are all still intersectional. That humanity, culture, and connection are still the access points. I’ve learned that bravery and curiosity are the cures for uncertainty, it’s a lifestyle and Vans champions that spirit. They stand where I stand, and I’m honored to invite a whole bunch of people to stand Off the Wall with us.
To showcase their partnership, Vans and SZA have created an original brand anthem that will debut on Vans social media, backed by a campaign that spotlights SZA’s love for the Knu Skool silhouette. Expect to see SZA take part in more Vans brand campaigns for the foreseeable future. Release details for the first SZA x Vans capsule are unknown at this time, but we should (hopefully) see something from the duo in the coming months.
