If you’ve ever seen Charles Barkley swing a golf club, you know the idea of him trying to even stand up on a skateboard could only end in disaster. The Round Mound of Rebound is an NBA legend, but in his elder years, his best athletic prowess was competitive trash-talking with the Inside the NBA crew (RIP). Barkley’s Nike Air Max CB line continues to live on, though, and if you ask New York skate shop and streetwear pioneers Supreme, the CB ‘94 was ready for a low-top remix in the Nike SB line.

The Supreme x Nike SB Air Max CB '94 Low Pack features three pairs of Charles Barkley’s signature, supposedly redesigned for skateboarding, and for the first time, cut down to a low-top. All three pairs feature monochrome leather uppers, one in black, one in white, and one in shimmering gold, conjuring up memories of the Supreme x Nike Air More Uptempo pack from years back. The raised durability panels on the sides do look like they’d offer pretty solid griptape protection, but with such a thick sole and toe, it’s hard to see these as a true skate shoe.

This isn’t the first time Nike SB and Supreme have teamed up to bring out-of-the-box classics to the skate line, with the Air Force 2 and Air Trainer 1 SB going from odd choices to cult favorites in decades past. The sole of the Supreme x CB ‘94 pairs is redone with a flat, skate-ready outsole, but we’re not sure yet what other SB adjustments have been made to the model.
