Stüssy Helps Revive the Nike Baltoro This Holiday Season

Although Stüssy is well past its golden age, the California-based surf and streetwear brand still plays a supporting role in the collaborative footwear world. This rings especially true when it comes to their Nike collabs, which hit shelves on a yearly basis and often tackle obscure and cult classic silhouettes. Next up in the illustrious lineage of Stüssy x Nike projects is the revival of the Nike Baltoro.
You, and many of us, had to do a double-take when it became clear Stüssy was working with Nike on the Baltoro, mainly because the boot hasn’t been on the market for nearly two decades. Originally introduced in 1990, the Nike Baltoro joined a series of outdoor silhouettes in Nike’s catalog as the brand began to push into the category with All Conditions Gear (ACG) and inline boots. The model never became a cultural icon or a defining silhouette of the era, and it’s been treated as such. Only once has the Baltoro enjoyed a retro run, that being in 2005 when The Swoosh coated the sneaker in a series of loud and vibrant colors that perfectly fit into the era of multi-color BAPE STAs and bright, in-your-face designs.
For Stüssy’s take on the Baltoro, Sole Retriever can confirm there are two colorways on the horizon: the pictured Light British Tan and a Safety Orange rendition. The Light British Tan colorway features a mixture of hairy suede and ballistic mesh on the upper, both coated in the titular hue. The early image courtesy of Scarr’s Pizza doesn’t give us a detailed look at the entire design, but it’s not hard to imagine that Stüssy logos will be found on the tongue tag and insole.
The Stüssy x Nike Baltoro Collection will be released Holiday 2025 through Nike, Stüssy, and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $155.
