The Stone Island x New Balance Numeric 272 Collection Releases June 2025

Italian fashion label Stone Island inked a multi-year deal with New Balance in 2021, resulting in several hit collaborations spanning lifestyle and performance footwear. However, the duo has yet to tackle the sport of skateboarding. A few months after the New Balance 998 Made in USA, Stone Island has announced its first New Balance Numeric project, featuring three colorways of the 272.
Featuring a brand-new construction and build for the 272 silhouette, the upper is made of premium suede and a stitch-and-turn poly canvas shroud that splits the shoe horizontally. Both the shroud and the N logo have subtle light-reactive properties. At the same time, the aluminum eyelets help the sneaker lean into the nautical theme from the Stone Island Marina sub-collection.
A custom synthetic tongue and the heel tab both feature Stone Island Marina branding, the latter also featuring NB# logos in the same raised TPU finish. Even with the high-fashion upgrades, the 272 still retains tech features for skateboarding, including a vulcanized rubber sole unit, Ortholite insoles, and an engineered outsole for board feel in the forefoot and shock absorption in the heel.
