Another Gidra-inspired collab is coming soon.
Jeff Staple has worked on plenty of sneakers in the past, but his relationship with Puma has proven to be a match made in heaven. After teaming up for a special edition Suede CFL and exclusive Slipstream Pack just last month, the New York City-based creative has now reunited with the Herzogenaurach sportswear company for the Staple x Puma Suede "Gidra." Inspired by Gidra, which is a newspaper founded in 1969 that was a powerful Asian-American voice during the civil rights movement, make sure you read on to find out everything that you need to know, including confirmed release information, pricing details, and a whole lot more.
Stepping out in a yellow and black color combination, which is a palette frequently used by the '60s publication, Staple's latest Suede is crafted from buttery suede with a Formstrip that's decorated in a reptile effect. Co-branded detailing is finely printed across the lateral sidewall, while Gidra graphics make their way towards the tongue and insole. All of this sits on top of a crisp white rubber midsole that has been slightly textured for a retro vibe.
The Staple x Puma Suede Gidra Yellow is set to release on March 31st, 2023 in men's sizes. Expected to drop at Puma and select online and in-store retailers, a retail price has yet TBA.
