Sotheby's, the renowned auction house, is no stranger to hosting sales for some of the world's most coveted sneakers. Their upcoming Emergence auction features an extremely rare and unreleased SB Dunk Low sample from the Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low collection that dropped in 2021. This event marks another historic moment in sneaker auctions, where enthusiasts and collectors come together to witness and partake in the sale of exclusive footwear.
The Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low Court Purple sneaker in question is a standout piece due to its unique characteristics and rarity. Unlike the commercially released versions from the 2021 series, including the Black, Mean Green, Hyper Royal, and Barkroot Brown, this sample harkens back to the 2003 Supreme x Nike SB Dunk High prototypes. These samples were highly sought-after collectibles and went to auction via Pharrell’s JOOPITER.
The Court Purple sample diverges from the retail pairs by featuring gold Nike text on the midfoot panel, an element that pays homage to the 2003 samples. The rest of the sneaker maintains the exact branding details found on the retail pair, which includes Supreme and Nike SB co-branding on the hangtag and added Supreme branding on the lace dubrae. Also differing from the other pairs is the use of court purple faux croc leather adorning the mudguard, eyestays, and heel overlay.
The Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low Court Purple Sample auction is set to begin on December 8, 2023, and will conclude on December 18, exclusively at Sotheby's. The lot is expected to go for between $4,000 to $6,000. You can bid on the Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low Court Purple here!
