Sony is Dropping Wolverine-Themed PlayStation 5s to Celebrate New Game

All the buzz in the world of Marvel is centered on Spider-Man: Brand New Day. The latest entry in Tom Holland’s portrayal of the friendly neighborhood spider has already netted over $1 billion at the global box office and is on pace to become a top 5-grossing film of all time. But step back from the Spidey obsession, and you’ll see Marvel is even cooking outside of the film industry. Partnering up once again with Sony and the team at Insomniac Games, Marvel is dropping a Wolverine video game next month, and in addition to the game itself, there’s a collectible PlayStation 5 to go alongside it.
Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 Edition
Sony has unveiled two different Wolverine-inspired PS5 consoles to celebrate the launch of the game, including a Battle Yellow and an Adamantium edition. The Battle Yellow version is inspired by Insomniac’s Battle Reborn suit and claws, giving the PS5 a primarily yellow finish with black accents and claw marks. A graphic of Wolverine is placed on the outer shell of the console, and it even features a matching controller with yellow claw marks and a two-tone black and yellow finish.
The Adamantium version is inspired by, you guessed it, the Adamantium bonded to Logan’s skeleton and claws. The same claw-marked design and graphic of Wolverine is present, but instead it's a metallic silver look accented by grey and black. There’s again a matching controller that follows the same color scheme.
Where to Buy the Wolverine PS5 Edition
Sony will be offering pre-orders for Marvel’s Wolverine PS5s and accessories starting on August 19, 2026 at 10 AM local time via PlayStation Direct and select retailers. The Battle Yellow bundle, which includes the PS5 Digital, a controller, and a digital code for Marvel’s Wolverine, will retail for $650.
If you already own a PS5 with or without a disc drive, Sony will also offer both the Adamantium and Battle Yellow console covers. However, the Adamantium will only be available for the PS5 Pro.
