A Salmon Colored Solefly x Air Jordan 3 Sample Just Popped Up on Instagram

The Solefly x Air Jordan 3 Retro OG Miami Hurricanes was one of the most anticipated Jordan collabs of the year. The Miami boutique paid tribute to the famed university right down the road, and they had a thoughtful unveiling, debuted by Hall of Fame Hurricane alumni. It was a perfect storm of South Florida sneaker and sports story. But what if the shoe had looked a little different?

Thanks to a surprise post on Instagram from rare sneaker collector @ayeelectric_, we got a quick look at what could have been: a sample pair of Solefly 3s with a completely different color story. Instead of the Hurricane blend with a clean white upper, the sample pair features a textured salmon leather upper, perforated white leather on the lace panel and heel tab, and deep red suede on the toe and heel panel with a Solefly logo embedded into the lateral heel.

The shoe does complete the Miami Hurricanes colorway trifecta with deep green hits on the heel stabilizer, heel panel Nike Air logo, and the outsole, but compared to the final version, the University theme is nowhere near as prominent.
