James Whitner’s The Whitaker Group is much like Kith, where just about everyone in the footwear industry has worked with the retail conglomerate. But unlike Fieg’s label, Whitner and TWG have a deep history with Nike and Jordan Brand spanning multiple retro silhouettes. While A Ma Maniere has previously worked on the Air Jordan 1 High and its predecessor, the Air Ship, no one under The Whitaker Group banner has worked on a low-top AJ 1 Low OG until now. Following leaks of a Social Status Air Jordan 1 Low, an official reveal of the Chicago-like AJ 1 Low collab has appeared.
Social Status x Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Details
Social Status, who up until this point has only worked with Nike Sportswear, opens the door to Air Jordan collaborations with Mike’s OG signature sneaker in a colorway that mimics the most recognizable of the original AJ 1s: the Chicago. Swapping out the white leather midfoot panel, Social Status adds a blue-and-white sashiko-stitched textile, but apart from that, things look like your standard Chicago AJ 1.
Red panels take over the mudguard, eyelets, and heel overlays, while the toebox gets what appears to be a cracked white leather finish. Waxed black laces run up a white tongue, with aged, exposed foam on the middle lace holder, while more black appears on the midfoot Swoosh. Down below sits a white rubber midsole and a red rubber outsole.

The Social Status x Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG will be released Holiday 2026 through Social Status and likely through the rest of TWG’s storefronts, including APB, A Ma Maniere, and JAIDE.
