Over at adidas, the archives run deep, and UK-based retailer size? often sifts through these old-school designs and exclusively launches colorways celebrating various holidays. Following up the St. Patty’s celebration on the All Team silhouette, size? is now launching an exclusive pack of adidas Originals Archive Mexicana celebrating Cinco De Mayo.
The Mexicana first appeared at the 1968 Mexico Olympic Games and has been in the vault for quite some time. Now, size? is offering two colorways of the model. Both pairs boast bold red, purple, green, and yellow hues on suede-wrapped uppers with premium leather accents. Golden foil Mexicana branding gets placed on the lateral collar, while Three Stripe branding comes in purple on the “Red” pair and red on the “Purple” colorway. This bright color palette is an homage to colors seen on the street of Mexico during the yearly Cinco De Mayo celebration. Underfoot sits a gum rubber sole unit, completing the design.
The size? Exclusive adidas Originals Archive Mexicana Cinco De Mayo is set to release on April 29th, 2023 exclusively via size? raffle. The sneakers will then drop on May 5th. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at £90 (approx $124 USD.)
