Shoe Palace, from its humble beginnings at the Berryesa Flea Market to its current stature as an influential retailer in the footwear industry, has a story that's nothing short of inspirational. As the brand celebrates its 30th Anniversary, it takes a nostalgic journey back to its roots. And what better way to commemorate this momentous occasion than by collaborating with adidas? For the “The Flea” Pack, Shoe Palace aims to bridge the past with the present and give a nod to the retailer’s community ties with an adidas NMD R1 and Forum 84 Low.
The NMD R1 boasts a knitted fabric showcasing the Flea Market logo on the lateral toe. Subtle tonal 3M Three Stripes don the sides, subtly imprinted with "Shoe Palace." Evoking memories of the fun days at the market, the heel's pull tab symbolizes tickets for rides and games. A trio of Trefoil logos, arranged vertically on the tongue, echo the color theme pervasive throughout the shoe. An intriguing custom insole captures the essence of the vintage sign that inspired this colorway. The crisp white Boost sole unit receives a playful touch with streaks of impact orange, and a significant detail - the year the Flea Market was inaugurated and the original stall numbers Shoe Palace operated from - is etched onto the lateral midsole.
Its counterpart, the Forum 84 Low, is a study in elegance. It features a pristine white leather upper, perfectly offset by a muted off-white midsole and a contrasting grey outsole. Smooth grey suede Three Stripes provide a rich texture, differentiating themselves from the sleek leather. The iconic Flea Market logo finds its way to the lateral toe box, much like its NMD R1 peer. The straps, which are both decorative and functional, carry ticket icon imprints and can be removed for styling versatility. Inside, a custom insole features the Flea Market logo reminiscent of the early 90s. As with the NMD R1, the Forum 84 Low’s lateral midsole bears the year the Flea Market began and Shoe Palace's original stall numbers.
The Shoe Palace x adidas The Flea Pack will release on August 25, 2023, exclusively via Shoe Palace. Available in men’s sizing, the adidas Forum 84 Low is priced at $120, while the adidas NMD will retail for $160.
