**Sabrina Ionescu with her new Nike shoe, the Nike Sabrina 1**

Sabrina Ionescu, the star point guard of the New York Liberty and one of the most exciting players in the WNBA, is officially getting her own signature shoe with Nike. The Sabrina 1 will be releasing Fall/Holiday 2023, and it’s a must-have for any fan of the young phenom. Sabrina's journey with Nike started with a variety of PE (Player Exclusive) colorways of different Nike and Jordan models, including the GT Cut and Jordan 37. The Sabrina 1 will be Nike’s second signature silhouette for a woman athlete in over a decade.

Sabrina Ionescu has quickly become one of the biggest stars in women’s basketball. She was the first player in NCAA history to record 2,000 points, 1,000 assists, and 1,000 rebounds, and she’s already making a big impact in the WNBA. Her impressive skills on the court, combined with her charismatic personality and love for the game, have made her a fan favorite.

Ionescu played a major role in the creation of her signature collection which will be, according to Kerry Sobol, Nike's VP of Global Women's Team and Organized Sports, "the first women's basketball player to deliver a unisex signature collection with Nike." Sabrina and the design time at Nike accomplished their goal of creating a silhouette focused on quickness and help on both sides of the ball as the silhouette comes built of lightweight materials and is supportive on foot.

Internal tech specs include a full-length Nike React cushion and Zoom Air in the forefoot on top of the stabilizing shank in the midfoot. Lacing utilizes a midfoot band system with lockdown cables to keep you secure during play. As for the design of the low-cut model, Ionescu's Romanian heritage serves as inspiration for the embroidered patterns on the forefoot and eyestays. We also see dotted "i" designs that wrap around the top and bottom of the outsole which wraps up to the heel. Other materials utilized on the sneaker include ripstop nylon, TPU, and nubuck. Branding comes complete with a slanted Swoosh on the medial side (representing the barriers Ionescu has broken throughout her career), a standard Swoosh on the lateral side, and Sabrina branding along the tongue and heel. Nike also included a hidden detail with the quote "Anyone, Anywhere" located in the cutout seen on the midsole's medial side.

Alongside the Nike Sabrina 1 will be a full unisex clothing collection that features t-shirts, hoodies, socks, and shorts. Co-branded Nike and Sabrina logos are spotted throughout the designs while coming in neutral color schemes (sans the lavender shorts and socks).

Nike will be launching the Sabrina 1 this Fall and Holiday season through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Releasing in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130.
