Ronnie Fieg and New Balance have been working together since Kith first launched in 2011. After 92 collaborative colorways, Ronnie and the Kith team are ready to celebrate the brand’s 15th anniversary with something new. Announced in a series of new Instagram posts, Fieg debuted the New Balance 2011 with a full breakdown of the design process and a detailed look at the new silhouette.
Ronnie’s New Balance Legacy Continues
The New Balance 2011 had been seen in unnamed previews earlier this year, but after so many Kith x New Balance collabs, we couldn’t say for sure what it was. In its final form, the 2011 mixes suede, leather, and mesh like a classic NB lifestyle silhouette, adding sleek, streamlined lines and subtle co-branded detail.
“When working on this collection, I reflected on my history working with New Balance,” Fieg wrote on Instagram. “What began as something small, evolved into a partnership larger than I could’ve imagined. To tell our story, I thought of our relationship as a tree that grows. Starting from just a seed, every year the tree grew, deeply rooted and sprouting leaves and flowers.” In addition to Ronnie’s contributions to the brand-new sneaker, NB design veteran Sam Pierce helped in the creation of the 2011.
New Balance 2011 Details are Still on the Way
The New Balance 2011 doesn’t have an exact release date or retail price just yet, but expect the silhouette to debut soon at the Kith x New Balance collab space in West Hollywood. Fieg’s post also makes mention of Friday, June 27, though it’s not confirmed if that’s in reference to the release date or a full unveiling.
