Ronnie Fieg has been able to achieve impossible tasks through his own personal collaborative history and via his label Kith. Tackling silhouettes with every major brand, adidas, Nike, New Balance, and more included, his go-to partner for footwear has been Asics as the pair have worked on nearly 100 collaborations since 2007. Continuing the longstanding partnership, Kith and Asics have come together to “remaster” the iconic Asics GEL-LYTE III in celebration of the NYC-based retailer/label's two new storefronts in Miami and Los Angeles.
In a post shared by Fieg, he detailed how the 99th and 100th collaboration with Asics will help continue the “Super Series” of releases between the two that so far has taken over 11 colorways and 3 silhouettes since 2009. For the latest rendition, we’re getting “Super Yellow” and “Super Orange,” the former of which gets a grey-covered upper with yellow accents on the Asics tiger stripes and various Asics logos on the upper. For the “Super Orange” colorway we see a tannish-cream take over the model with orange accents taking over the Asics branding details. Both sneakers feature various suede panels throughout their upper, the split-tongue design the model is famous for, and mesh underlays paired with a GEL-cushioned sole unit. While not radically changing the silhouette in general, Ronnie shared some tech info regarding the "Remastered" moniker. Small tweaks to the size, shape, and angle of various panels. The exact tech specs are showcased down below.
The Kith x Asics GEL-LYTE III Remastered Super Yellow and Super Orange will first release sometime in 2023 once each respective city has its storefront’s grand opening while a wider release through Kith online and all storefronts will come at a later date in the year.
