A Rick Owens x Converse TURBODRK Denim Pack Is Set To Release

Plenty of high fashion brands have their own version of a canvas sneaker with a vulcanized rubber sole, essentially a more premium version of the Converse Chuck Taylor. Rick Owen’s, however, seems to be the most popular and sought-after iteration, often spotted on the likes of Lil Uzi Vert or Playboi Carti. It only made sense that the original creators of this design and one of fashion's most unique designers would come together to create a collaborative sneaker, that is the Converse TURBODRK. While the silhouette was originally released back in 2021, in 2022 we’re getting a Rick Owens x Converse TURBODRK "Denim Pack."

Fusing elements from the Chuck Taylor and Rick Owens DRKSHDW silhouette, this upcoming denim-covered collection keeps things simple when it comes to its color palette. For the high-top, black denim covers the entire upper and comes accented by white stitching details around the toe and eyestays. The toebox dimensions get redesigned into a more squared-off shape while still retaining its classic rubber toecap in white, sitting at the edge of the black tongue and white lace combo. More dimensions are reworked with the tongue’s length well extended upwards, housing a co-branded Converse and Rick Owens tongue tag. Placed just below the collar on the lateral side is the standard Converse All-Star label, keeping its OG design and coming in black and white. Underfoot a chunky vulcanized rubber midsole with DRKSHDW and Converse branding split between both heels is paired with a gum rubber outsole.

On the low-top, silver denim takes over the upper with white stitching details seen throughout. The same redesigned dimensions are present with the shape of the toebox and length of the tongue given the Rick Owens treatment. Cream white laces run up the silver tongue through chrome eyestays, reaching just below the co-branded Converse and Rick Owens tongue tag. Rounding out the look is the same midsole and outsole combo seen on the high-top pair.

The Rick Owens x Converse TURBODRK Denim Pack is slated to release on July 12th, 2022 through Converse and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in unisex sizing, the retail price for the low-top is set at $165 while the high-top comes in at $170.
