Founding Rhude in 2015, Rhuigi Villaseñor has risen to prominence in the fashion industry even without getting formal training in the design world. As celebrities like Kendrick Lamar and others in pop culture began to wear his clothing, not only did the presence of Rhude grow but so too did Rhuigi’s as he landed a job with the NHL’s own Arizona Coyotes, became the Creative Director of the brand Bally, and has his own line with Zara. Continuing to venture outside of his own label, Rhuigi is once again teaming up with Puma and bringing the iconic Puma Suede back to its breakdancing roots.
Seen in a tonal pink dubbed “American Beauty,” the silhouette takes on an all-over suede construction with the majority of the silhouette dressed in the aforementioned pink hue. Creamy shades take over the fat laces and rest atop the pink tongue with its co-branded Puma and Rhuigi logos. More accenting hits land on the Puma formstrip as it takes on a grey suede finish to match the heel tabs construction. Rounding out the upper is the white sockliner and golden Puma branding near the midfoot while everything gets completed by a vintage cream midsole and outsole.
The Rhuigi x Puma Suede B-Boy American Beauty is set to release on March 25th, 2023 through Puma and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $120.
