Reebok had its day in the sun on the basketball court as the 90s and early 2000s featured some iconic sneakers by the brand including Dee Brown’s infamous Slam Dunk Contest moment with the Pump and Allen Iverson’s signature series of sneakers. One model that also holds a special nostalgia-fueled place in the hearts of many from this era is the Reebok The Blast which launched as a part of the Mobius collection, consisting of models like the Shaqnosis and Kamikaze. Last seeing a retro in the 2010s, 2023 will see the model return in its OG “Black White” colorway.
Taking on a multi-material and multi-paneled construction, the silhouette comes covered in leather, suede, and mesh in a two-tone black-and-white color scheme. Black suede covers portions of the lateral toebox while the majority of this region takes on a white leather finish. Working on this lateral side we see claw-like black leather panels wrap atop the mesh and leather areas of the midfoot and heel with various Reebok logos stamped atop the lower 3 overlays. For its tongue and lace set, a two-tone black and white finish is applied with red hits found on the Reebok Vector logo. Once you make your way to the medial side of the model you’ll see the color scheme comes inverted with black taking over the white portions and vice versa compared to the lateral side. Rounding out the design is the black, white, and red rubber midsole paired with a matching rubber outsole.
The Reebok The Blast Black White is set to release on March 3rd, 2023 through Reebok and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
