Rayssa Leal, the 15-year-old skateboarding phenom from Brazil who made headlines for her historic silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, is set to join an esteemed group of skaters who've gotten their own Nike SB Dunk Low.
At just seven years old, a clip of Leal landing a heelflip in a tutu (part of a fairy princess costume) went viral and spawned what many dub her fairy tale career. When she turned 11, she became the youngest street skater to win a Women’s Final on the Street League Skateboarding World Tour and later participated in the X Games.
Months after news came forward regarding Leal’s collaborative SB Dunk Low, images of the pair emerged. The sneaker features a mismatched look thanks to the different colored Swoosh logos, royal blue on the right side of each pair and a vivid purple on the left side. We see an intricate pattern for the overlays that comes unique to each pair atop the suede panels. Leal's logo proudly sits on the lateral heel, also in vivid purple, while the purple tongue tag reads Rayssa's Dunk. Other personalized details include the smiley face charms on the lace dubrae and insole, and this smiley face is debossed into the leather midfoot.
The Rayssa Leal x Nike SB Dunk Low will release on March 19, 2024, through Nike SB-affiliated skate shops, followed by a SNKRS release on March 20. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $125.
