After signing with Puma in May of 2021, Seattle Storm star Breanna Stewart has been preparing for the release of her first signature sneaker. Stewart follows in the footsteps of some of the greatest professional women’s basketball players of all-time, such as Cheryl Swoopes, Chamique Holdsclaw, Candace Parker, and fellow UCONN alum, Diana Taurasi. All of which had their own signature sneaker with their respective brands. Now, Puma has officially unveiled the Puma Stewie 1, the first women’s signature basketball sneaker to drop in over a decade.
While test driving her signature sneaker throughout the 2022 WNBA season, the Puma Stewie 1 is set to debut later this fall at retail. Dubbed the “Quiet Fire” edition, inspiration comes from Breanna’s fierce-yet-humble nature. The neon green-based upper is made up of layers of monomesh, targeted for comfort, support, and breathability. Its North Star-inspired design is a nod to her Cicero North Syracuse High School. An aggressive flame molding morphs into calming ripples of water on the midsole, with NITRO Foam cushioning, and a molded heel counter for stability with scars that represent Stewart’s two achilles surgeries.
The Puma Stewie 1 Quiet Fire W is set to release in September 2022. It will drop at Puma and select Puma retailers worldwide, both in-store and online. Coming in unisex sizing, retail is set at $145. Keep it locked to our Twitter andMobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
