Puma Basketball has made major strides in the last few years after bringing the hype back to the brand with the signing of LaMelo Ball and the introduction of the Puma MB signature sneaker. On top of this, Breanna Stewart became the first female athlete to receive a signature silhouette in nearly a decade with the brand, however, the basketball division of the German sportswear brand is getting a little help from one of the most recognizable soccer stars on the planet, Neymar Jr. Instead of some pitch-ready cleats, Puma has given Neymar his own colorway of the Puma Rise Nitro.
Coming covered in a knit-like material and mesh dubbed PWRTAPE, the sneaker comes in a vibrant orange shade with blue accents seen on TPU overlays throughout. A sock-like cover takes over the toebox and midfoot and hides the lacing system below while the tongue features Neymar’s logo in white alongside blue flame accents. Along the lateral midfoot, the Puma Formstrip logo comes in the form of a blue TPU overlay that reaches back and almost touches the heel's perforated blue strip that hosts another hit of Puma branding. Completing the look of the upper is the tonal orange sockliner while the Nitro Foam-cushioned midsole and rubber outsole also continue the orange look.
The Puma Rise Nitro Neymar Jr. is set to release on January 26th, 2023 through Puma and select Puma retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130.
