Pharrell and adidas Hit the Beach with a new Virginia Watermoc

Virginia is for lovers…and surfers.

Pharrell and adidas are keeping their ongoing relationship going with a new silhouette perfect for avoiding jellyfish stings while you’re swimming, surfing, or doing yoga at the shoreline. Bringing the summer heat to Virginia Beach and switching from his usual Skateboard P persona to Surfboard P, the new water moccasin is here just in time for the heat wave.

Cowabunga, Dude

The Pharrell Williams adidas Virginia Watermoc is a wave shoe made for trekking the beach and keeping your toes safe in the water, but we have absolutely no doubt that you’ll be seeing these on city streets as soon as they drop. Debuted in an Instagram post from Pharrell next to matching colored Virginia-branded surfboards, the shoe was previewed in five colorways: red, blue, green, yellow, and black.

Featuring a Y2K-era retro shape, all five pairs feature silver on the toebox, side panel, and heel construction, with black on the midsole, laces, and tongue. Each color is added in waves across the side panel and on the forefoot strap that covers the laces so they can’t get caught while you’re wakeboarding. In classic Pharrell fashion, he’s already got a nickname ready for the shoe, calling the Watermoc the Starfish.
