Pharrell Williams has been a critical partner for adidas since joining the brand in 2015. The duo has introduced the world to several silhouettes, including the once-popular Hu NMD silhouette that couldn’t be escaped during the Boost craze. On top of this, a slew of collaborative sneakers have hit the market, and one that offered a cheap alternative to the Hu NMD was the adidas Tennis hu, a low-top sneaker that slightly resembles the premium-priced Hu NMD. Recently appearing in a “Royal Chalk” color scheme, a clean “Grey Chalk” rendition has just emerged.
Covered in a tonal grey Primeknit across its upper, the sneaker keeps things simple as it only introduces two shades, the grey mentioned above and a chalk white hue. The knit pattern varies throughout the upper design and features a semi-hidden Three Stripes design through perforations on the midfoot. A set of grey rope laces rest along the tongue while Suede panels, seen on the tongue and heel, host co-branded details between Pharrell Williams and adidas and get finished in a grey shade. Underfoot sits a rubber midsole in a chalk white shade paired with a matching rubber outsole.
The Pharrell x adidas Tennis Hu Grey Chalk will be released in 2023 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $100.
