Patta, Amsterdam's streetwear and sneaker boutique, is no stranger to impactful collaborations, and its latest partnership with New Balance is no exception. The duo is set to release a two pack of New Balance 991v2 colorways, marking another significant chapter in their ongoing collaboration history. This release follows closely on the heels of Stone Island's version of the model and the debut of New Balance's general release colorways for this new iteration in the venerable 99X series.
The Patta x New Balance 991v2 Made in UK is a testament to both brands' commitment to quality and style. The Pickled Beet pair features an upper that combines a rich palette of silver-grey and burgundy, primarily focusing on the luxurious pigskin suede in burgundy. This bold choice is complemented by brown accents that delicately grace the toebox overlays, collar areas, and heel sections, adding depth and contrast to the overall design. The sneaker is further enlivened by striking volt accents on the lace set and parts of the dual-tone midsole, which seamlessly blend white and grey.
On the Sea Moss colorway, we see a similar mixture of mesh, suede, and leather with most of the sneaker coming in green hues. Grey accents hit the tongue and mesh base while we see volt accents on the midsole and extra laces. Underfoot sits the same midsole found on the Pickled Beet colorway.
The Patta x New Balance 991v2 Made in UK Pickled Beet was originally slated to release on November 17, 2023, via HIP in the UK. The sneaker was swiftly taken off the store. Following this, Patta announced the release of the Pickled Beet colorway and a Patta-exclusive Sea Moss. Both will be released via Patta on December 1 while the Pickled Beet pair will be available globally via New Balance and select retailers on December 8.
