A Palace x adidas Y-3 Yuuto Collaboration Is In The Works
Published
After teaming up with New Balance earlier this month for the Palace x New Balance 580 Pack, it looks like the London-based streetwear brand now has its sights set on the Three Stripes with the upcoming Palace x adidas Y-3 Yuuto collection. Made in partnership with Japanese fashion god Yohji Yamamoto, this rare three-way collaboration works on top of the legendary Yuuto, which debuted all the way back in 2004.
While not much is known about this collection at this moment in time, we know for a fact that it will arrive in three distinct colorways. The first pair is painted in an all-black palette with bold red accents throughout, the second one opts for a seldom seen "Triple Green" combination, and the third, which is arguably the best of the trio, is dipped in white and features Yamamoto's favorite flower, the Botan. In the traditional art of ikebana, the Botan is often used on flower arrangements to represent honor, respect, and good fortune. The last time the Japanese designer used this symbol in his collections was in 2018's James Harden x Y-3 capsule where it made its way across a selection of sneakers and apparel pieces, so we're glad to see it back after four years. In terms of materials, the Yuuto works on top of a versatile textile upper and is locked in through a series of rubberized bands. Underfoot, you'll find a geometric EVA foam midsole that's both comfortable and lightweight, and this is lined with a waffle outsole. To round it all off, adidas x Palace branding adorns the tongue, while Y-3 is proudly stamped around the heel.
The Palace x adidas Y-3 Yuuto Black Red, Palace x adidas Y-3 Yuuto Green, and Palace x adidas Y-3 Yuuto White Botan will release at the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023 in men's sizes. A retail price has yet TBA, but these will be available at Palace, adidas, Y-3, and select stockists online and in-store worldwide.
