In 2023, adidas set the stage for creativity and competition with its Consortium Cup, inviting 16 top retail partners to design unique sneakers. The UK-based retailer Offspring was emerging victorious, known for its keen eye for style and detail. Following this, all the respective winners have seen their designs hit shelves, and just after getting an official look at the retailer’s Samba, Offspring has announced release details for its Centennial 85 Lo.
The Offspring x adidas Centennial 85 Lo Consortium Cup showcases a sophisticated off-white shade that hints at a slight pink hue, lending the shoe a unique and soft appearance. The upper is a blend of various textures and materials, featuring perforated leather, suede, and canvas, which collectively enhance the sneaker's visual and tactile appeal. The suede detailing on the mudguard, midfoot, and heel is notable for its raw edge, contributing to the sneaker's refined yet rugged charm.
This natural edge theme continues onto the leather eyestays, while additional leather on the midfoot panel and adidas' Three Stripes adds to the premium feel of the shoe. The design also features Offspring's logo debossed into the lateral heel, a subtle yet impactful branding element. A special touch includes the Consortium Cup hangtag on the lace set, commemorating the sneaker's origin. The design is completed with a semi-translucent clear sole unit.
The Offspring x adidas Centennial 85 Lo Consortium Cup will release on January 19, 2024, through Offspring online, while a wider release will take place at a later date. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at £130.00 (around $165 USD).
