Panda Dunk Details Take Over This Nike Zoom Vomero 5

The sneaker game has been dominated by retro silhouettes for most of its existence and the Nike Dunk has been a mainstay in the last 3-some-odd-years. With this, we’ve seen the infamous “Panda” colorway gets remixed countless times, restock on essentially a monthly basis, and now we have other silhouettes like Nike’s Vapor Edge that mimic the inescapable sneaker. Flipping the script on the Nike Dunk Low “Timeless” which sees a remix between the Peter Moore-designed basketball-turned-lifestyle model and the 2010s runner, the Nike Zoom Vomero 5, the latter of the two silhouettes gets a “Panda” Dunk makeover.

Keeping elements from the standard Nike Zoom Vomero 5, the silhouette now features added leather overlays in black around its mudguard, eyestays, and heel overlay that from a distance may make the model appear to be a Dunk Low. Stark whites take over the mesh underlay on the toebox, tongue, and midfoot with leather and TPU overlays following this same color scheme. Branding details atop the tongue feature a glitch-like design as half of the tongue tag takes on a normal Zoom Vomero 5 tag while the other half appears like the embroidery found on a Dunk Low. While this looks may be a little too overpowering to some, don’t worry as each of the aforementioned leather panels are removable and reveal a standard white/grey Zoom Vomero below. Rounding out the look is the white and cream Vomero 5 midsole paired with a black rubber outsole.

The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 Timeless is set to release in 2023 through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $160.
