Sneakerheads and the public, in general, have begun to look at sneakers as more than just fashion statements, with utilitarian features being favored by many. Some take this mentality further than others, as evidenced by Nike’s new Zoom Vomero 5 variant, the Vomero 5 Roam. First previewed in Flax and later seen in Black Light Silver and Summit White Light Bone, the model will get colorful makeovers like the pictured Racer Blue White rendition.
Splitting the color palette, we see a two-tone design with racer blue hues on the top half of the upper and summit white on the bottom half. Splitting the midsole and racer blue upper is a rubberized mudguard that extends from the toe across the profile and back to the heel. Waterproof ripstop material makes up the base in race blue, matching the leather midfoot panel and Swoosh, as well as the sockliner and suede panels. A speed lacing system with an adjustable hook makes lacing a breeze, with the laces using a blue and pink color scheme. Other added details on this version of the Vomero include:
- Upgraded internal padding.
- A reflective pull tab on the heel.
- A rubber toecap for added protection.
Underfoot sits a foam midsole with Zoom Air and Cushlon 3.0 cushioning paired with a black and gold rubber outsole.
The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 Roam Racer Blue White will release in Holiday 2024 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $180.
