In recent years, basketball superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo's partnership with Nike has produced some of the most innovative and stylish basketball shoes with the Nike Zoom Freak series. Before the NBA season came to an end, we got our first looks at the next entry in the series - the Nike Zoom Freak 5. Already spotted in a retro Bucks-themed colorway, the latest rendition of the Zoom Freak 5 pays homage to the Sepolia neighborhood in Athens, Greece, where Giannis grew up and honed his basketball skills.
Unlike the colorful "Keep It A Buck" colorway on the model, this homage to Giannis' hometown features a black mesh upper with a tonal geometric cube pattern. Leather overlays in black run along the toebox, eyestays, and collar, providing additional support and structure. Pops of color can be found on the blue eyestays and branding on the white tongue. A large volt green Nike Swoosh adorns the midfoot, partially sunken into the midsole and covered with a black geometric pattern on the bottom portion. A purple leather heel tab adds another color to the design, while a white foam midsole and multi-color grippy rubber outsole complete the look.
The Nike Zoom Freak 5 Made In Sepolia is set to release on July 21st, 2023, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
