Nike Officially Unveils the Vomero Premium
Published
Nike has continued to showcase what it remains one of the top running brands on the planet with its latest entries in the Vomero series. While we’ve seen images of the Vomero Plus for a few weeks now, The Swoosh has officially unveiled the Vomero Premium, its most cushioned Vomero sneaker to date.
Designed to help athletes of all levels go farther, recover faster, and train smarter, the Vomero Premium is Nike’s pinnacle recovery trainer. At the heart of the Vomero Premium is a plush 55mm heel stack height. Nike’s elite ZoomX foam works in tandem with exposed Air Zoom units in the heel and forefoot — a combo engineered to mimic the low-impact sensation of anti-gravity treadmills used by top athletes.
Faith Kipyegon, one of the world’s most dominant middle-distance runners, praised the silhouette as a key component in her historic sub-4-minute mile attempt. “It’s so soft, cushioned, and comfortable,” Kipyegon said. “It helps me train harder with less impact so I can recover faster and stay focused on my goal.”

The Vomero Premium is also a showcase of Nike’s latest experimentation with air technology. By exposing the Air Zoom units, Nike designers allowed for greater expansion and compression underfoot, maximizing energy return. Combined with ZoomX’s 85% energy return rate, the result is a ride that feels both powerful and pillowy — a unique achievement in long-distance footwear.
"Everything we do begins with listening to the voice of the athlete,” says Deepa Ramprasad, Senior Director, Running Footwear. “We always put the runner first — from our elite Nike athletes to runners embarking on their first runs. Their voices drive every step of our footwear creation process, shaping the innovations we build and the details we obsess.”

Together with the Vomero Plus, which delivers similarly plush comfort with a slightly different configuration, the new silhouettes round out Nike’s road running lineup. The Vomero line now anchors Nike’s cushioning category alongside the Pegasus (for responsive everyday runs) and the Structure (for supportive stability).
The Nike Vomero Premium will debut October 2025 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. A series of colorways are expected to hit shelves, with more coming in 2026.
