The Nike S.T. Flare Borrows Two Air Yeezy 2 Colorways
Published
Earlier this month, Nike introduced a new Asia-exclusive performance basketball silhouette: the S.T. Flare, designed specifically for the country’s outdoor courts. Following up the debut colorway are two pairs that look quite familiar to sneakerheads, especially if you were around for the Nike Yeezy era.
Borrowing the colorblocking and color palette from Ye’s (FKA Kanye West) Nike Air Yeezy 2 Pure Platinum and Solar Red, the two pairs lack ties to the designer and multi-hyphenate. Instead, this homage to one of the most legendary sneakers is done via direct translations onto the model, as the Solar Red colorway features black hues on its upper, red pops on the sockliner, and golden TPU eyelets. The other pair brings back the look of the Pure Platinum colorway with a cream-based upper, red accents on the sockliner and tongue, and, like the Solar Red pair, golden eyelets.

Internally, the S.T. Flare has a full-length Cushlon 3.0 foam midsole and a forefoot Air Zoom unit. To help with the outdoor courts so common in China, the macro herringbone traction pattern on the outsole below features XDR (extra durable rubber). Back to the design of the two pairs, the Solar Red pair features a cream, white, and black midsole and outsole combo, while the Pure Platinum comes with a similar combo, just with the colors shifted around.
The Nike S.T. Flare Air Yeezy 2 Pack will release in Fall 2025 through Nike and select retailers overseas in the APAC region. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at ¥14,630 Japanese Yen (approx $100 USD).
