Packaging for sneakers may seem arbitrary, especially for those not heavily invested in collecting. However, Nike SB’s choice of packaging is something that many pay attention to. Since its inception in 2003, the packaging that houses Nike SB sneakers indicates a specific era of releases with classics like the Silver Box and Pink Box Era hosting some of the most iconic SB releases of all time.
Since the beginning of 2020, we’ve been graced with the Striped Box that saw pairs like the Ben & Jerry’s x Nike SB Dunk Low “Chunky Dunky” and Concepts x Nike SB Dunk Low “Orange Lobster,” though this exciting era that saw a massive revival for interest for the SB Dunk is coming to an end. Now, early photos show the new era of Nike SB Dunk boxes will be covered in grey and white shades.
To kick off this new era, we’ll see the Jarritos x Nike SB Dunk Low come in this packaging alongside another hyped release - the Run The Jewels x Nike SB Dunk Pack. We can expect to see a wide range of releases going forward to take on this box, though select releases may come with special themed boxes for particular releases.
