If you’re looking to get into anime, One Piece may be a bit of a daunting task. Since debuting on TV sets in 1999, the show has run for 21 seasons and over 1,100 episodes. Yeah, you’re not going to be able to binge this in a few days. You have over 400 hours of show to watch. Even still, the franchise has one of the most rabid fan bases in all of anime, and it has a history of working in our world of sneakers and streetwear. Next up on the docket for One Piece is a collaborative collection with Nike.
Included in the One Piece x Nike collection are T-shirts, jerseys, and hats, all themed after Devil Fruits, more specifically, Gomu Gomu no Mi, Mera Mera no Mi, and Ope Ope no Mi. The Gomu Gomu fruit gives the user an elastic rubber effect, the Mera Mera allows users to create, control, and transform into fire, and finally, Ope Ope, which creates a ROOM in which the user can control virtually everything. Characters associated with the fruit include Luffy (Gomu Gomu), Ace (Mera Mera), and Law (Ope Ope), so it’s likely these three will be featured somewhere on the items.
As of this writing, there are no images of the apparel, and footwear isn’t confirmed to be part of the collection, but it’s highly likely that One Piece x Nike sneakers will drop when the clothing is released next year. The Swoosh has recently begun to tap into the world of anime for collaborative capsules, last doing so with Yu-Gi-Oh! on a pack of Air Max 95s and matching apparel.
One Piece actually has a bit of history in the sneaker world. In 2018, the series worked with Skechers to bring multiple characters to life on the D’Lite silhouette, and in 2024, Puma did the same. There was also a One Piece Vans collab in 2022. Most recently, Crocs partnered with a stalwart in the Japanese retail space, atmos, for a Classic Clog based on Luffy.
Expect to see the One Piece x Nike collection release in Fall 2026 (July-September) via Nike and potentially select retailers. Retail is set at $95 for the jerseys, $35 for the hats, and $45 for the T-shirts. More information and first looks will come to light in the coming months, and we’ll most definitely be keeping our eyes peeled if One x Nike sneakers do come to light.
