Nike Mind Sizing, Fit, and Comfort Guide

Now that the Nike Mind has broken the internet, with the new recovery footwear selling out instantly on release day, there’s a ton of questions about them. How do they fit? Are they comfortable? Will I be able to access 100% of my brain power with them? We can’t confirm that last one, but we can for sure let you know everything about Nike Mind sizing, fit, and comfort.
Is the Nike Mind Comfortable?
Short answers. Yes. Longer answer. Also yes, but we’ll explain in further detail. Nike’s Mind technology consists of 22 individual nodes on the outsole that act as pistons and gimbals, allowing you to feel the texture of the ground below and activate sensory points in your foot. These nodes pair with the super soft foam to create an on-foot experience that’s honestly not comparable to other footwear. It’s not necessarily the MOST comfortable footwear you’ll ever wear, it’s up there, but the Nike Mind’s comfort is certainly the most unique underfoot experience. Does the Nike Mind Fit True to Size?
There are lots of questions about how the Nike Mind fits. One of the most requested is whether they are true to size, and our Nike Mind slides size guide has you covered. That depends on your foot, but in this author’s experience and for others that Sole Retriever has spoken to, yes, the Nike Mind fits true to size. The Nike Mind sizing doesn’t feature half-sizes, so if you’re in between sizes (example, 9.5, 10.5, etc), you’ll want to go up to the nearest whole size.
If You Have Wide Feet Can You Wear the Nike Mind?
Wide footers should not worry about whether they will fit in the Nike Mind. The Nike Mind slides fit comfortably for those with wide feet. The actual width caters to slightly wider feet, but if you have a really wide foot, the foam expands and is soft enough that it won’t rub against your foot and hurt.
Nike Mind Sizing vs. Nike Offline Sizing
As we mentioned before, the Nike Mind sizing is true to size, so don’t overthink picking the correct size. The predecessor to the Nike Mind, the Nike Offline, also fits quite similar to the Nike Mind. Obviously the comfort is vastly different, with the Mind using nodes on the outsole and the Offline using nubs on insole inserts, but they both fit true to size.
Nike Mind 001 vs. Nike Mind 002 Fit
The Nike Mind 001 slide and the Nike Mind 002 shoe feature the same underfoot technology, Nike Mind, but are different in their construction. The Mind 001 is more of a slide or mule, while the Mind 002 is more of a traditional sneaker with a tongue and laces. Both fit true to size and feature the same Nike Mind technology with 22 nodes attached to the outsole.
