CrossFit exploded in the mid-2010s, and Nike's response to the trend was the now-iconic Nike Metcon. A decade later, the Metcon line is going strong with Nike's announcement of the all-new Metcon 10.

Built for all facets of training, the Metcon 10 introduces a lighter and more runnable construction while staying true to its roots in stability and durability. “A decade in, we revisited the DNA of what makes Metcon the global standard in training footwear and obsessed over the balanced system of strength that Metcon stands for: stability, grip, lockdown and mobility,” says Erin Gleason, Product Line Manager for Nike Training. “We focused on going back to the foundation of what makes Metcon great.”

At the core of the Metcon 10 is the addition of ReactX foam, offering a softer, more responsive underfoot feel ideal for explosive movements like box jumps and sprints. For lifters, the re-engineered Hyperlift plate provides maximum heel stability without compromising flexibility, creating a dynamic platform that responds to the demands of heavy squats, deadlifts, and power cleans.

The design also incorporates a wider toe box, a reworked sole for better traction and control, and upgraded haptic print reinforcement in high-wear areas for improved durability. Athletes will also appreciate the enhanced midfoot band and TPU heel clip, which together offer secure lockdown and lateral support during dynamic movements such as rope climbs, sled pushes, and handstand push-ups.

Other thoughtful upgrades include a lace-lock system that tucks laces away to reduce distractions, sticky rubber in the forefoot for maximum grip, and strategic outsole cut-outs that increase flexibility while cutting down on the silhouette's weight.

Nike Trainers Rad Lopez, Darren Tomasso, and Claire Prince all praised the shoe’s evolution. “The ReactX foam makes the Metcon 10 feel more responsive than before,” Lopez says. “With the Metcon 10, I no longer need multiple shoes for a single workout,” adds Tomasso. Prince echoed the sentiment: “It’s evolved to maintain structural integrity without any sense of heaviness.”

The Nike Metcon 10 will debut on August 4, 2025, via Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in unisex sizing, the retail price is set at $155.
