Death, taxes, and LeBron James decimating the Toronto Raptors are the only things inevitable in life. The 2018 Toronto Raptors, with their duo of DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry, were one of the most elite teams in the Eastern Conference, consistently finishing near the top of the standings in the latter half of the 2010s..
Standings, rankings, and historical records simply meant nothing to LeBron James during his second stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers between 2014 and 2018, where he consistently tortured the team in the North for three seasons, including a sweep in the 2018 playoffs. In a pivotal Game 3, LeBron sank a buzzer-beater to squash a Raptors comeback and the team’s hopes. That earned home of the Raptors the unfortunate nickname of LeBronto as an acknowledgment of LeBron’s inevitability.
Now, the Nike LeBron 23, LeBron’s storytelling silhouette, is honoring that dominant run with a new colorway. The sneaker comes dressed in a tan knit upper with dinosaur-shaped meteors embroidered throughout as a metaphor for Toronto’s fate when facing The King. The bronze crown-shaped mudguard comes with a scale texture that many imagine dinosaurs to have. Adding to the extinction theme is the embroidered raptor fossil on the heel of the shoe.
Other details include gold metallic Swooshes on the lateral toe, matching gold LeBron branding on the tongue, and an icy translucent outsole. Like all Nike LeBron 23 colorways, this colorway includes special King Forever packaging with a crown-shaped box. Included in the packaging is a King Forever booklet that details some of LeBron’s biggest moments, crown-branded dust bags for the shoe, and, for this specific colorway, a raptor lace charm to match the heel tab.
The Nike LeBron 23 LeBronto drops on March 10, 2026, via Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s and grade school sizes, the retail price will be set at $210 and $165, respectively. For everything LeBron and Nike basketball, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
