Kobe Bryant spent his entire career - minus the first few minutes of Draft Night - on the Los Angeles Lakers. When it came to his signature shoe line, though, Kobe went through a very public free agency and team switch. In 2002, hot off a title three-peat and departure from adidas, the Mamba showed up at Rucker Park, put on a pair of Forces, and the rest was history.
Live from Legendary Rucker Park
The Nike Kobe Air Force 1 Low Protro Lord of the Rings has been one of the most anticipated pairs from Kobe’s 2026 Air Force 1 Protro line, taking on the name bestowed upon the champion guard by Rucker Park emcee Hannibal. As the legend goes, Kobe didn’t show up to Rucker wearing Forces, but was given a pair to wear that matched his team’s orange uniforms before the game got started. Kobe would go on to join Nike at the end of his sneaker free agency, making the choice that much more significant.

First arriving on our radar late last year, we saw a set of in-hand images of the pair earlier this month. Now, with the colorway set to drop soon, Nike finally released official pictures of the colorway. Starting with white leather, the pair matches Kobe’s Rucker colorway with orange stitching across the entire upper and more orange on the sockliner and outsole.
