First spotted on PJ Tucker and Anthony Davis, the “Reverse Grinch” Nike Kobe 6 Protro may be seeing a release during Holiday 2023.
Kobe Bryant fans rejoiced when Vanessa Bryant and the Bryant Estate as a whole came to an agreement with Nike to continue the iconic Nike Kobe lineup of performance basketball sneakers, however, the duo has only released one pair since this news broke in 2022 - the Nike Kobe 6 “Mambacita.” Since then, we’ve gotten confirmation that various models in the Kobe line, like the Kobe 4 and Kobe 8, will make a Protro return while Kobe 6s have been left in the dark (aside from the rumored “Prelude” colorway). Now, according to zSneakerHeadz, the PE colorway spotted on PJ Tucker and Anthony Davis (though PJs was slightly different), the Nike Kobe 6 Protro “Reverse Grinch” is rumored to release Holiday 2023.
Inverting the color scheme of the infamous Kobe 6 Protro “Grinch,” the entire faux-snakeskin upper, mesh tongue, and TPU overlays come covered in red shades while the laces and Mamba logo atop the tongue takes on the vibrant green hue associated with the Dr. Seuss character. Along the midfoot sits a painted-on Nike Swoosh in black that reaches back to a semi-translucent red heel counter hosting golden Kobe branding. Continuing the monochromatic-like red makeover is the sockliner and tongue lining with the red Zoom Air-cushioned midsole and grippy rubber outsole completing the look.
The Nike Kobe 6 Protro Reverse Grinch is rumored to release Holiday 2023 through Nike SNKRS and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $180.
