Nike is Ready to Celebrate NBA All-Star with a Slithering Kobe 5 Protro

The NBA All-Star Game is heading to Phoenix, Arizona this season, and for a town that's used to partying, the sunshine-soaked desert is the perfect host city for basketball's annual rager. Alongside lots of fun and a little basketball, Nike is bringing out its typical annual run of All-Star sneaker colorways, including a snake-heavy theme on the Kobe 5 Protro.

Snake vs. Snake

The Nike Kobe 5 Protro Mamba vs. Diamondback is the first, but certainly not the last colorway from next year's NBA All-Star collection. Taking over Phoenix, Arizona, the snake-themed colorway is a perfect match for the slithering desert energy of the Southwest.

Seen in just one leaked preview, the Nike Kobe 5 Protro Mamba vs. Diamondback is a mismatched mix of khaki tan and black. On the right shoe, a tan graphic base gives way to a black side panel, with the opposite layout on the left shoe. On both shoes, a red outline makes the side panel Swoosh pop, with alternating cream and black inside the branding. With only one image available, we can’t make out the exact details of the graphic upper or see any snake-specific details.

The Nike Kobe 5 Protro Mamba vs. Diamondback doesn’t have a release date or retail price yet, but with most All-Star pairs dropping alongside the event in February, we’re expecting this pair early next year.
