PublishedQuick Facts
- Nike is launching a Dodgers-themed Kobe 5 Protro in 2026

- Expect a release Fall 2026

When you think about Los Angeles sports and the city’s championship pedigree, the recent success of the back-to-back World Series-winning Dodgers is top of mind, but the Lakers' dynasty led by Kobe Bryant is always present in the city’s murals, fashion choices, and tattoos. Bringing the two pillars of LA sports together, Nike is adding another Dodgers colorway to the Kobe signature line for 2026.
While we haven’t seen pictures of the upcoming Nike Kobe 5 Protro Dodgers yet, we have color info and have provided a speculative mock-up based on our sources. The pair opts for a primarily Dodger blue finish on the upper, with matching blue on the tongue, lace set, and heel tab. Pops of red appear on the outline of the Swoosh, the Kobe signature on the heel, and the Kobe sheath on the tongue. Baseball stitching is applied to the tongue and on the edge of the heel. Inside sits a custom graphic on the insole, which is a picture of Bryant attending a Dodgers game. Finishing the sneaker is the all-blue sole unit.

The Kobe 6 Protro Dodgers released earlier this year and featured a Mamba-themed snakeskin upper in Dodgers blue, a white Swoosh and midsole, with a red 8 on the heel for Kobe’s jersey number and red baseball stitching around the top of the tongue. Alongside the sneaker, Nike dropped baseball equipment with references to the Black Mamba, including catcher's gear, sliding mitts, and more.
So far, we only know that the Dodgers colorway of the Kobe 5 Protro will be released sometime in 2026, but we’ll keep you updated as we find out more information and see official photos of the pair. To stay up on all the latest Nike Kobe news, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
