Fans of Kobe Bryant sneakers were relieved when in 2022 Vanessa Bryant and Nike finally reached an agreement to continue the iconic line of performance basketball silhouettes. So far, we’ve gotten confirmation that outside of the Nike Kobe 6, Nike will bring back the Kobe 4 and 8 in Protro form and now we have another colorway of the Kobe 4 confirmed for Holiday 2023 - the Nike Kobe 4 Protro Gift Of Mamba. With Nike's official announcement of the relaunch of the Nike Kobe Line in Fall 2023, fans can rest assured that we will be getting plenty of Kobes in 2023 and beyond!
For this Kobe 4, the model diverts from the Gigi pair that was released earlier in the year as it features faux snakeskin details. This detail lands on the suede mudguard, collar, and Swoosh while the base layer comes in a light black suede. Kobe's logo atop the tongue comes in black while his signature on the right sneaker's TPU heel counter comes in gold, adding some regal flair to the model. Another nod to the late legend includes his number "24" debossed on the heel. Underfoot sits a foam and rubber midsole in black, cushioned with Zoom Air, paired with a black rubber outsole.
A Gift Of Mamba capsule will also be released alongside the Kobe 4's. It will consist of a Jersey and an $824 Nike Kobe Destroyer Varsity Jacket. The Destroyer Jacket is constructed of all-black wool and snakeskin patterned leather. A Black Mamba snake is stitched into the back in the shape of an 8 with Kobe's "The Jobs Not Finished" quote on one side and "Mamba Mentality" on the other. In true destroyer fashion, Kobe's five title years are embroidered into the bottom of the jacket.
The Nike Kobe 4 Protro Gift Of Mamba will release on December 27, 2023, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $190.
