Sorry, Nike, it doesn’t matter what time of year you drop the shoes; if you’re going to release a bright green pair of Kobes, we’re going to call them Grinches. This pair is skipping Christmas for a Fall release, but if you skipped the second half of the story, the avoidance makes perfect sense. After getting a quick preview of the new two-tone emerald green Kobe colorway, a new set of official images gives us an even closer look.
For the Whos in Whoville
The Nike Kobe 3 Low Protro Grinch features a bright Grinch fur shade of green on the toebox and net-shaped TPU side panels, with a darker forest green shade on the heel. A gradient midsole mixes both shades, with bright green on the front half transitioning to dark green at the heel.

A return to Grinch green pops on the Swoosh in the middle of the heel panel, with a metallic green switch on the Kobe sheath logo on the top of the tongue. The colorway isn’t dropping during the holidays, but with a release coming soon, we won’t blame you if you stash them in the closet until they’re ready for the tree.
