Sure, he left the Mid-Atlantic for a year of college at Texas and has never made his way to the Wizards during his team-hopping career, but honestly, who could ever blame him for that one? Everywhere he goes, Durant makes clear that PG County, Maryland, raised him into the hooper and human that he is today, and his hometown of Seat Pleasant served as inspiration for one of our all-time favorite Nike KD 6 colorways.

KD’s Youth Hoops Journey

According to SneakerMarketRO, the Nike KD 6 Seat Pleasant is the latest colorway of Durant’s sixth signature shoe on the retro calendar, with a return release rumored for next year. Sitting at number 10 on our list of the best KD 6 colorways, the blue and yellow Maryland mix is a welcome addition to the shoe’s year-long retro run.

Starting with a yellow base on the upper, the colorway features black branding on the toeside Swoosh and heelside KD logo, plus bright teal accents on the tongue, laces, outsole, and Air bubble. The colorway is inspired by the Seat Pleasant Lakers youth basketball team that KD played on as a kid and the Seat Pleasant Rec Center where they hooped - a perfect reminder of how far Durant has come while he gets set to launch his 19th signature sneaker.
