Kevin Durant and his signature line of sneakers with Nike have seen significant success as the series reached its 15th iteration in 2022 and reached its 16th model this year. Since it has been over a decade since the initial introduction of the series, now is the time for Nike to return to OG models, with the KD 3 currently getting the retro treatment. Already seen in its iconic All-Star colorway back in February and a new Aunt Pearl-themed release, this Holiday 2023 brings even more excitement with the return of the Nike KD 3 in its Christmas colorway.
Initially released in 2010, the model is set to return in proper OG form as it retains the vibrant yellow, photo blue, and team orange color scheme for its 2023 retro. Across its upper sits various vibrant yellow leather panels, with the midfoot featuring Flywrire to help contain one's foot when laced up. This portion, alongside the tongue’s KD branding and the Nike Swoosh on the midfoot, has hits of photo blue, while we also see the two branding details featuring accenting hits of orange. Tonal yellow laces match the mesh tongue and sockliner, with our final hit of accenting color coming in the form of the KD 35 logo on the heel. Rounding out the design is the yellow foam midsole paired with a semi-translucent gum rubber outsole.
The Nike KD 3 Christmas was originally set to release on December 23, 2023. They will now release on December 19, through Nike and select NSW retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $130.
