Spooky season is upon us, and Nike Basketball is celebrating Halloween by giving their signature athletes horror-tinged colorways. The creepy collection features the Ja 4, Book 2, Giannis Freak 8, ST Charge helmed by Cade Cunningham, A’Two, Sabrina 4, and the newly released Caitlin 1. When it comes to horror on the court, however, no sight is as frightening as Kevin Durant. The NBA’s fifth all-time leading scorer is a nightmare for defenders for 20 seasons, earning him the moniker Slim Reaper. Much like taxes, death by Kevin Durant is inevitable. For Durant’s version of the Halloween sneaker, Nike leans into the spectral force for an afterlife-inspired colorway of the KD 19.

Nike KD 19 Halloween Details

The silhouette features a splash of bright red across its Nike Hyperflight-inspired upper. The lateral side features a skeletal hand wrapped around the molded black Z-shape on the upper like a reaper gripping its scythe. Black pops up on the mini Swoosh on the lateral toe, vamp, tongue, and sockliner. Matching the skeletal hand on the lateral is a skeletal mini Swoosh on the medial side. Worn-looking KD branding on the tongue gives it a decrepit appearance to match the deathly theme. Completing the look is a semi-translucent outsole that glows in the dark. Additional details include a skeletal Kevin Durant on the insole of the sneaker and a matching mask so you too can be the Slim Reaper for Halloween.
