This Nike KD 15 is B.A.D.

Nike Basketball has reigned supreme in terms of talent in the NBA on its roster with stars like LeBron James receiving signature silhouettes from the Oregon-based sportswear giant. One key player on their roster, Kevin Durant, has supplied ball players throughout the world with semi-affordable footwear that plays well on the court, looks great in the streets, and often conveys a message personal to him. For his latest rendition of the ever-popular Nike KD 15, Durant is bringing some B.A.D. behavior with a tonal purple colorway and added details.

Taking on its typical construction of mesh, TPU, and leather across the upper, this “B.A.D.” colorway gets covered in tonal purple shades and also adds velvet to the tongue portion. With the base layer coming in a light purple hue, hits of deeper purple can be found via the fused overlay reinforcing the toebox, the mesh sockliner, and through the lace set running along the tongue. Speaking of the tongue, the velvet material comes with an embroidery of a rose throughout its design while the tongue tag forgoes its typical KD logos in favor of the acronym “B.A.D.,” however, we can’t pin down exactly what Durant is trying to convey with this thematic colorway. Further flower details and “B.A.D.” branding make their way to the included hangtag and below the outsole. One detail that may point to who this colorway represents can be found on the lining of the tongue as Kevin Durant’s brother's name (Tony) is embroidered into the mesh. As for the rest of the model, everything remains the same with a leather heel and collar hosting a nylon pull-tab and the midfoot getting a TPU exoskeleton that hosts Swoosh details. Rounding everything out is the white foam midsole paired with a semi-translucent rubber outsole.

The Nike KD 15 B.A.D. is set to release on May 14th, 2023, through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $150.
